As an all round 3D and VFX artist, I am a strong user of many graphics packages. I have been using Softimage for 7 years now, with around 3 years of MAX use. These exposed me to Mental Ray and its multi pass rendering. Its node-based shader system and indirect illumination methods have often aided me in achieving photo real results. For many years I have used Photoshop and Illustrator to create my own textures, logos and still mock-ups for work in progress. Often I use Photoshop to work into a production still, then use that as a basis for lighting and staging.
In working as a freelancer among small teams of artists, I've gained experience in many areas of graphics content, including compositing knowledge which I use to enhance shots whilst saving time over 3D solutions. I have over three years professional experience as a 3D artist, including HD TV work, music videos, promotional items, web-based animation, title sequences and real-time applications.
In June this year, BBC iScience, a project I contributed 25 shots to, won the Royal Television Society award for best Television Program for Schools.
Following my degree, my final year animation was nominated for a Royal Television Society Student Award.
